Zeno Stocks Funeral Held

Daily Reflector, Thurs., July 13, 1950

Mr. Zeno STOCKS, 59, died suddenly at his home, 915 Washington St., Wednesday morning 
at 10 o’clock after having suffered a heart attack. Funeral services will be 
conducted at the Chapel of the S. G. Wilkerson & Sons Funeral Home Friday afternoon 
at two o’clock by the Rev. Walter B. NOBLES, Free Will Baptist Minister of 
Winterville, and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Modern Woodmen of America, 
Greenville Camp 12885, will be honorary pall bearers. Mr. STOCKS, son of the late 
Joe and Clemmie NICHOLS STOCKS, was born and spent his entire life in Pitt County. 
He was married to Miss Pattie WHITEHURST of near Stokes in 1912 and she died in 
1918. He was later married to Miss Minnie SUGG of near Ormondsville. He was a farmer 
until he moved to Greenville in 1931, and for the past three years he had been 
employed at Blount’s Fertilizer Plant. He was a member of Pine Grove Free Will 
Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife; six sons, Joseph STOCKS of Williamston, 
C. Ray STOCKS of Norfolk, Va., Zeno Marvin STOCKS of near Greenville, Kerren H. 
STOCKS, of Greenville, James R. and W. Donald STOCKS, both of the home; three 
daughters, Mrs. Christine STOCKS JOLLY of Norfolk, Va., Mrs. J. Leslie PATE of 
Goldsboro, and Mr. W. J. MORGAN of Greenville; 14 grandchildren; and two brothers, 
W. F. and Lonnie STOCKS, both of near Greenville.
