Rites for W. H. Manning

Bethel—W. Harvey MANNING, died in a Rocky Mount hospital Sunday at 6:15 a.m. He had 
been critically ill for 10 days from a heart ailment. He was a member of the Bethel 
Methodist Church and the Bethel Masonic Lodge. The Masons will have charge of the 
services at the grave. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church here 
today at 3:30 p.m. conducted by the Rev. N. W. GRANT, pastor assisted by the Rev. 
W. M. CASSELL, Baptist minister, and the Rev. John B. PARKER, Pentecostal Holiness 
minister. Interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, the 
former Miss Leontine DAVENPORT of Gainsville; a daughter, Mary Ann MANNING of the 
home; one son by a former marriage, Harvey D. MANNING of Miami, Fla.; three brothers, 
Jay Roy MANNING of Plymouth, George D. MANNING of Asheboro, X. G. MANNING of Bethel; 
two sisters, Mrs. H. J. STEVENS of Willow Springs, Mrs. John B. ROBERTSON of Clayton; 
his mother, Mrs. Anna J. MANNING of Bethel; two grand-children.
