Mrs. Victoria Smith Dies

The Weekly Herald, Robersonville, NC, Wed., Oct 22, 1947

Mrs. Victoria SMITH, 82, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. C. EVERETT 
in Parmele Wednesday at 1:25 p.m., following a lingering illness. Funeral 
services were held from the home of Mrs. SMITH in Bethel Thursday afternoon at 
3:30, conducted by Elder J. D. FLYE, Primitive Baptist minister of Rocky Mount. 
Burial was in the family cemetery in Bethel. She was a daughter of the late 
Richard and Patsy WORTHINGTON HILL of near Ayden, but was reared by her 
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Getting WORTHINGTON. She was a member of Little 
Creek Primitive Baptist Church at Conetoe. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. 
Letha WORSLEY, Mrs. H. K. BROWN and Mrs. J. L. MANNING, all of Bethel, Mrs. 
R. C. EVERETT of Parmele and Mrs. Olivia BULLOCK of Robersonville; three sons, 
Leslie SMITH of Greenville, Marvin SMITH of Newport News, Va., and Elliott 
SMITH of Philadelphia; 35 grandchildren and 11 great–grandchildren.
