Thurs. Sept. 29, 1859 North Carolina Argus September 29, 1859 -- VAN BUREN HOPKINS of Pitt County, N. C., was murdered a few days since by a boy in his employment who entered his room at night with an axe and crushed his skull. The boy is only 12 years old, diminuative and in feeble health.
