T. R. Cherry Dead

Died Apr. 22, 1890, T. R. CHERRY. He was b. Feb. 17, 1827; m. Nov. 1, 1853. His 
widow and 5 children survive, 4 living in Greenville. Before the Civil War he 
was engaged in the merchantile business in Greenville and in 1868 formed a 
co-partnership with J. B. CHERRY under the style of T. R. CHERRY & Co., they 
did business for 20 years. At one time he was chairman of the Board of County 
Commissioners. The last few years Mr. Cherry’s health declined and he gave 
little attention to the business, and some months before his death he retired. 
He was buried in Cherry Hill cemetery, which was donated by him to the town 
several years ago.
