Joseph Edgar DAIL, 49, died Thursday morning, November 1, at a Wilson hospital after 
an illness of three week’s duration, and as a result of double pneumonia. Funeral 
services were held Friday afternoon at his home by Rev., L. R. ENNIS, assisted by 
Rev. Jack TYSON and burial followed in Hollywood Cemetery. Regarded as one of Pitt 
County’s most highly esteemed farmers. He was a faithful follower of the Baptist 
faith, attending the local Baptist Sunday School regularly throughout the past 
several; years. Surviving are his widow a second wife, formerly Mrs. Lula HARRELL, 
and ten children: Misses Penina, Minnie, Louise, Ruby and Ruth, twins, Frank 
Douglas, Asa, Herbert and Elmer DAIL, and a sister, Mrs. Dock ROUSE, Snow Hill.
