Funeral For Mrs. Bryant Adams

Daily Reflector, Wed., July 5, 1950

Mrs. Emily BUCK ADAMS, 78, wife of Bryant ADAMS, died at four o’clock Sunday 
morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joe TYSON at Calico Crossroads, after 
having been in declining health for several years. Funeral services were 
conducted at Black Jack Free Will Baptist Church at three o’clock Monday 
afternoon by the Rev. Walter B. NOBLES, Free Will Baptist minister of 
Winterville, and burial was in the churchyard. Mrs. ADAMS, daughter of the 
late Allen and Louise ADAMS BUCK, was born in Pitt county and spent most of 
her youth near Galloway’s Crossroads. She had been a member of Black Jack Free 
Will Baptist Church for thirty years. Mr. and Mrs. ADAMS celebrated their 
fiftieth wedding anniversary last January. Surviving are her husband; three 
daughters, Mrs. Joe TYSON of Calico Crossroads, Mrs. Arthur GALLOWAY of Black 
Jack, and Mrs. Alonza SMITH of New Bern; two sons, Major ADAMS of Black Jack 
and Louis ADAMS of Calico; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
