Mrs. Ellen Simpkins Passes on Tuesday

New Bern Sun Journal, Wed., May 15, 1968

Mrs. Ellen SIMPKINS, 92, of Truitt Community, wife of the late Joe H. SIMPKINS, 
died Tuesday in Craven County Hospital in New Bern. Funeral services will be 
held Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Spring Hope Free Will Baptist Church with interment 
following in Spruill Cemetery near Vanceboro. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. 
Hannie POWERS and Mrs. Lizzie NOBLES, both of Truitt; eight grandchildren; 14 
great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
