Oct. 14, 1847, Charlotte Journal September 28, 1847 FATAL DUEL -- A duel was fought, with pistols, on the 28th ult., in the Dismal Swamp, near Norfolk, between FERDINAND HARRISS and EDWARD YELLOWLY, both lawyers of Pitt County, N. C. The first fire grazed HARRISS' shoulder -- the second ball passed thrugh his brain. We believe his opponent was unharmed.
