The following is a complete listing of the tombstones in the McGlohon Family Cemetery in Pitt County, NC.
Location 2465 Lafayette St. Winterville NC 28590 From Hwy 11/903 turn onto Forlines Rd take a left onto Westminster Dr then an immediate right onto Surry Ln then right onto Lafayette St pass Dare Ct to curve and cemetery is on the right between 2 homes.
It is not known when the cemetery was actually started but the oldest marked grave is 1863. In the northeast corner are three wooden markers. One is believed to be a slave owned by Lewis McGlohon and he is thought to be the first burial here. The other two wooden markers are believed to be infants. The cemetery was enclosed by a iron fence in 1916 and then replaced by a brick-pillar and iron fence in 1977. The Cemetery is located in the Manchester subdivision.
